Our head office being located in Boucherville, on the South Shore of Montreal, we know that some of our employees are concerned by the roadwork being carried out in the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel. Our Expectations

This role, based at our Boucherville’s office, reports directly to the Corporate Controller. The primary purpose of the Director, Credit Programs is to provide overall strategic leadership for Lowe’s financing programs, including developing and leading strategic growth initiatives, product development, P&L management, and risk mitigation strategies. The incumbent will be responsible for Canada operations and strategies. They will identify all resources and processes required to achieve our objectives, including IT development, field operations, and marketing. This role will also provide corporate, store, proprietary credit external vendor, support, oversight, and operations related to risk for proprietary credit programs. This position is critical in allowing the company to remain competitive as a sales organization, protecting the business from operating and regulatory risks, and addressing the needs of Lowe’s corporate to have input and oversight in partnerships with external credit vendors.

 

Your Role

 

  • Develop and execute the vision, priorities, and growth of Canada overall credit strategies
  • Provide executive leadership with key performance metrics, highlighting credit risk and opportunities; provide recommendations to address the issues
  • Make decisions for credit programs, review requirements, and test plan builds
  • Provide executive leadership reviews of new product strategies and status of existing business plans
  •  Ensure compliance of all credit programs and lead their team to focus on forward-looking risk assessments
  • Act as main point of contact and manage relationship with banking partners
  • Ensure alignment on quarterly business reviews, forecasts, and budgets
  • Evaluate continually programs/process for opportunities to enhance overall customer experience
  • Evaluate project management to ensure on-time delivery, within scope and budget
  • Lead and provide direction on the credit promotion execution with promotional systems testing and validation
  • Oversee the store credit system support process for escalated issues and work to resolve them immediately
  • Lead the credit promotion execution with promotional systems testing and validation
  • Monitor stores during system upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance releases
  • Ensure that store systems (POS/selling and credit servicing) are compliant to credit regulatory requirements
  • Lead by attracting, developing, coaching, retaining, and rewarding talent to build a high-performing organization

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Experience within the retail industry or any other related sector (highly desirable)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in credit management and accounting
  • Completed CPA designation
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and enthusiastic leader with strong business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to pivot rapidly and work with ambiguity
